About Stephen Monroe
Stephen Monroe has had an
active interest in the landscape of central Arizona for many years.
He currently works for the U. S. Geological Survey in Flagstaff, Arizona
with his principal research concentrated on the springs of the Grand
Canyon. The history, hydrology, and geomorphology of Fossil Creek
has been the focus of his personal research during the past several
years. He contributed the report Geomorphology
and Hydrology of Fossil Springs Damsite to Childs-Irving
decommissioning discussions in 2000. Work in progress at Fossil
Creek includes landscape change analysis through repeat photography and
study of channel morphology and associated riparian habitat.
