 In John's first nine years, he
traveled from Italy to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah. Both of
his parents died on the way, and he was without family when
he arrived. Kindly people cared for him through his
childhood. He married Margaret in the little log church in
Temple Square in Salt Lake. Directed to settle in Arizona,
the arrived in Pine in October 1881 with their three
children. They lived in a dugout while building the log
cabin, which is the heart of this house. |
